The Alberta Water & Wastewater Operators Association (AWWOA) will once again be hosting our Silent Auction at our special 50th Annual Operators Seminar in Banff, Alberta on March 10 & 11, 2025. We are proud to have this event at our week-long seminar every year to help raise funds for The Water School. This auction is one of a number of activities which the AWWOA sponsors to raise funds for this charity.
The Water School is a global, non-profit organization dedicated to providing safe water and sanitation solutions to developing nations. This organization does not take any portion of the donations they receive for administrative costs with 100 per cent of each contributor donation going directly to the project that year.THIS YEARS PROJECT
In 2023 & 2024, AWWOA donated all funds to a solar powered borehole pipe extension system to bring clean, safe water to the surface for communities that had none. For 2025, with our donation funds, we will be supporting an extension of this project to deliver safe and clean water in Kucwiny, a collection of villages in northeast Uganda. The expansion will include an additional 12.6 kms of piping, providing 770 households in 12 villages with access to clean, safe, water.

And to help maximize our donations, for a second year in a row, The Water School is instantly matching any donations collected on auction items dollar for dollar! So, any amount you donate with your silent auction bids or 50/50 ticket purchases will be doubled in support of the borehole extension project for this year. In celebrating our special 50th Seminar Anniversary, our goal is to raise $30,000 for a combined donation total of $60,000!
Additional charity fundraising from the 2024 Golf Tournament and 2024 Water Week Conference have also been added to the donation total!
